What I do, and what I do not do
- I do: work out what your skin type and current condition actually are, choose products and strengths for them, set the order and frequency, say what to stop, and tell you what to expect week by week.
- I do not diagnose. An esthetician cannot name a skin condition, and I will not pretend otherwise. Where your photographs suggest something medical, I say so and tell you what kind of doctor to see.
- I do not prescribe. No prescription medication, no treatment of disease.
- I do not sell products. I have no brand deals and earn nothing from what I recommend, which is why several articles here end by telling you to spend less rather than more.
How I write what is on this site
Everything in the blog comes from the treatment room: the questions clients actually ask, the mistakes I see repeatedly, and the gap between what a product promises and what it does on a real face. Where I give a number — how many weeks an ingredient needs, how much sunscreen to use — it is either from published research or from my own observation, and I say which.
Where something is outside what an esthetician can speak to, the article says so and points to a doctor. That line runs through all hundred pieces, and it is the part I am least willing to blur.
